In the hockey fight video on February 2nd, 2011, New York Islander’s Rick DiPietro take a cheap shot on Pittsburgh Penguin’s Matt Cook with his blocker because Matt Cook has been pissing him off in recent games. The two teams skirmish a bit and then the Pengiun’s goalie, Brent Johnson, decides to have a go at a fight with DiPietro. This hockey goalie fight doesn’t last long with only one bunch thrown, but we aren’t disappointed. Johnson gets a left handed hook punch and knocks Dipietro out on the first punch.
It’s so rare the NHL goalies fight, always a treat to see. Can’t remember the last time a goalie fight resulted in a KO.
A video of an emotionally charged hockey fight between 4th line enforcer Aaron Voros of the Anaheim ducks and Kevin Bieksa of the Vancouver Canucks. This hockey fight doesn’t last long, with Kevin Bieksa getting a few harsh right hand hooks in there, one of which broke Aaron Voros’ orbital bone.
Insane hockey fight in Russia in the Kontinental Hockey League. Ever since the events on January 9th, 2010, when Darcy Verot shot a puck intentionally at Lasse Kukkonen, every time Avangard Osk and Vityaz Checkov meet, a big hockey fight takes place.
This is the latest match between the two teams, where Darcy Verot and Joshua Gretton of Vityaz Checkov start a line brawl just 6 seconds into the first period. They were later summoned to the police station to answer questions about starting a mass brawl. Due to these fights, people are calling for the Chckov team to be kicked out of the KHL. The fight is very intense with what is a lot of hate between these two rivals, which is probably the biggest rivalry in the KHL at the moment.
Former NHL hockey player Martin Skoula was also involved in this hockey brawl, having to go to the hospital with a concussion.
What a crazy fight for a European hockey league, where fighting carries suspensions and happens very rarely. In this extreme hockey fight video 17 year old Swedish Elite League player Adam Larsson fights 32 year old Daniel Corso, a career minor leaguer who previously played a decade in the AHL.
Adam Larsson of the Skelleftea AIK looks like he’s winning the hockey fight at first, with lots of strong solid punches on Daniel Corso. Things change near the end when the Timra IK assistant captain gets a couple solid bunches and really bloodies up Larsson’s face. As this bloody fight is finished and Larsson walks off the ice, we see his face, more than half of it is red, soaked with blood.
Who says the European leagues aren’t tough. This video shows a different story. The refs also let them fight for almost 30 seconds too!
A great emotional hockey line brawl in the AHL between the Toronto Marlies and the Grand Rapids Griffins at the Ricoh Coliseum on November 24th, 2010. A huge total of 18 Fighting majors were given out for the fisticuffs that happened in this emotional hockey game.
The two teams hate each other so much during this fight that you see the refs having to tackle Darryl Boyce of the Toronto Marlies (#7) to rescue the Griffins’ Tomas Tatar (#27) after Boyce devastated him. I chuckled when I saw that. Another great was between Francis Pare of the Griffins (#9) and Matt Lashoff of the Marlis (#21) at center ice. Lots of harsh uppercut punches and hooks thrown.
Also, a rare time that the video of this extreme hockey fight was filmed by a fan and the footage is not from a television network. Great job by the fan filming this great hockey fight!
Rick Rypien, an undrafted enforcer for the Vancouver Canucks gets pissed off at some Minnesota Wild fan who is clapping as he is leaving the ice. The whole incident was preceded by an on ice shoving match between the Minnesota Wild players and Vancouver Canucks players.
As he is walking off the ice, Rypien simply shoves the fan who is claping in his face. He is escorted away before things can get any worse though. For this shove, Rypien got a 6 game suspension (way too long in my opinion).
Miss the good old days of hockey fights between players and fans. Such as when the entire Boston Bruins team got in a fight with the New York Rangers fans and entered the stands back in 79.
