In the hockey fight video on February 2nd, 2011, New York Islander’s Rick DiPietro take a cheap shot on Pittsburgh Penguin’s Matt Cook with his blocker because Matt Cook has been pissing him off in recent games. The two teams skirmish a bit and then the Pengiun’s goalie, Brent Johnson, decides to have a go at a fight with DiPietro. This hockey goalie fight doesn’t last long with only one bunch thrown, but we aren’t disappointed. Johnson gets a left handed hook punch and knocks Dipietro out on the first punch.
It’s so rare the NHL goalies fight, always a treat to see. Can’t remember the last time a goalie fight resulted in a KO.
In this video of a bloody hockey fight in the NHL game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the New York Rangers, Nick Kypreos gets knocked out by the Rangers’ Ryan Vandenbussche.
Vandenbussche was clearly wining this hockey fight early on when Kypreos with lots of fast heavy left hooks. Kypreos decides to slow the fight down a little and holds on the Vandenbussche but he gets a few more punches in and gets Kypreos down with a harsh looking left hook to the jaw. As Kypreos is falling to the ice, his head hits the ice first knocking him out. His nose also starts bleeding as the doctors rush out to help him out. This is one fluke KO.
A video of an emotionally charged hockey fight between 4th line enforcer Aaron Voros of the Anaheim ducks and Kevin Bieksa of the Vancouver Canucks. This hockey fight doesn’t last long, with Kevin Bieksa getting a few harsh right hand hooks in there, one of which broke Aaron Voros’ orbital bone.
Wild hockey fight between Chris Stewart of the Colorado Avalanche and Kyle Brodziak of the Minnesota Wild on November 27th, 2010. They decide to square off in the second period off the faceoff, with neither of the two hockey players being an enforcer. Stewart does however have a bit more fighting experience than Brodziak and unleases a wrath of punches on Brodziak’s head. He even punches Brodziak’s head’s backside which isn’t done often and is considered very poor class.
Stewart easily wins the fight as Brodziak just falls down not knowing what to do. Stewart continued to show bad class by doing hand gestures to at the Wild bench as he leaves the ice. Brodziak gets the final laugh in this fight however as Stewart ended up breaking his left hand. Stewart is now out for 4 to 6 weeks. Guess karma appears to be at work here.
Rick Rypien, an undrafted enforcer for the Vancouver Canucks gets pissed off at some Minnesota Wild fan who is clapping as he is leaving the ice. The whole incident was preceded by an on ice shoving match between the Minnesota Wild players and Vancouver Canucks players.
As he is walking off the ice, Rypien simply shoves the fan who is claping in his face. He is escorted away before things can get any worse though. For this shove, Rypien got a 6 game suspension (way too long in my opinion).
Miss the good old days of hockey fights between players and fans. Such as when the entire Boston Bruins team got in a fight with the New York Rangers fans and entered the stands back in 79.
Matthew Barnaby of the Pittsburg Penguins, one of the toughest hockey players from the 90s and early 2000s get in a fight with huge hockey giant defenceman Chris Pronger of the Blues. Throughout most of the hockey fight, Barnaby tries to avoid escalating things as Pronger is much bigger and Barnaby has had concussion problems recently.
This hockey fight video still has some solid undercuts and other punches however, mostly from Pronger. You can hear Barnaby yelling NO!, NO!.In short, Barnaby wimps out. Very surprising since he’s not one to back down from a fight.
Barnaby had character and a big hockey heart! Miss him in the NHL.
Great fight on the ice between two of the greatest hockey enforcers of the 1990s. Bob Probert, then playing with the Detroit Redwings, gets into an intense fight with Tie Domi of the New York Rangers. Both players get some solid hook shots in this awesome hockey fight but neither clearly wins.
The ref unfortunately calls the fight off as it’s a long one. The players don’t want to stop though, as they continue yelling and trying to go at each other after the fight’s been broken apart by the ref. Probert also ends up shirtless, losing his jersey during the fight.
Love the announcers comments during this long, classic, NHL fight!
A rather uneventful fight for the infamous Mike Danton while he was playing for the St. Louis Blues against long time respected Coyote Shane Doan. The fight has some night punches with Doan taking down Danton in the end.
In case you don’t know the saga of Mike Danton, he was one crazy hockey fighter when he was in juniors with a bunch of his friends. His teams were often coaches by the also infamous former hockey agent David Frost. The story is a long and complex but in the end, Mike Danton was accused of hiring a hit man to kill David Frost ending whatever professional hockey career Mike Danton had.
Just as in interesting note, he was born Mike Jefferson, but he thought Mike Danton was a cooler name and change his name. Personally, I think it was cooler having the same last name as classic Married With Children character Jefferson D’Arcy.

A great bloody hockey fight video with tough Slovak hockey player Tomas Kopecky, the playing for the Detroit Redwings, against high scoring forward Patrick Sharp of the Chicago Blackhawks.
The hockey fight is quick with Patrick Sharp surprisingly winning by bringing down seasoned fighter Kopecky who’s also 2 inches taller. Sharp does get the worst part of the fight as he gets a bad cut over his eye that is bleeding heavily.
Ironically, both players now play for the same team, the Hawks.
Georges Laraque of the Montreal Canadians get revenge on the Phoenix Coyotes for a dirty hit that Kurt Sauer did on Andrei Kostitsyn of the Habs.
Laraque, one of the greatest fighters in the NHL for the last decade, takes on Todd Fedoruk and easily gets him to the ground! Not much trouble for Georges Laqaque. After that embarrassing fight, Kurt Sauer ends up fighting Tom Kostopoulos of the Habs and takes him down.
Two great hockey fights in a great hockey game. Gotta love Laraque’s fighting skills!
